Omstreeks 15u botsten in de werken op de E34 ter hoogte van Wachtebeke 3 vrachtwagens en een auto op elkaar. Er vielen geen gewonden, maar de enige rijstrook was wel volledige versperd. De laatste vrachtwagen diende getakeld te worden. De sleepwagen moest van in Moerbeke achterwaarts tot aan het ongeval rijden. Na anderhalf uur was de rijbaan vrij, maar de file stond op dat moment tot in Assenede.<\/p>\n<p>In de avondspits gebeurde er bijna gelijktijdig op 2 kilometer van elkaar 2 zware ongevallen.<\/p>\n<p>Ter hoogte van het kruispunt van de E34 met de Stoepestraat te Assenede botsten 2 wagens en een vrachtwagen op elkaar. De rijbaan was een tijdlang afgesloten. Op de R4, ter hoogte van het knooppunt met de E34 in Zelzate-West, gebeurde het zwaarste ongeval. Een bestelwagen reed er achteraan in op enkele stilstaande wagens. De brandweer moest enkele mensen bevrijden uit hun voertuig.<\/p>\n<p>Enkele foto&#8217;s van het eerste ongeval in Wachtebeke en een ingestuurde foto van het ongeval in
